Chemicals guide
What is dosed in an STP, and where.
An MBBR plant removes most of the pollution biologically, using bacteria that grow on moving plastic media. Chemicals play a supporting role at a few points. Select a unit to see what goes in and why.
Not every plant needs every chemical. The choice and the dose depend on the sewage quality and on the discharge or reuse standard. Dosing rates are fixed after a site evaluation and trials, such as a jar test for coagulants, and adjusted as the load changes.
